If the Braille support file is run as-is when WTC is shipped, it assumes there is no screen reader on your computer and that you are using a Focus or PacMate Braille display from Freedom Scientific, connected via USB port. If this is not the case, you will need to disable or modify the "F" directive in the value of the "brl_support" key.
The "F" directive follows immediately after the global Braille settings discussed in the previous section. It is followed by "USB" to indicate a UsB port connection. The semicolon following this specification terminates the settings under the "F" directive, there is only the one, the connection.
If you are using a screen reader and do not require autonomous Braille display output at all, you could delete from "F" through ";", but a simpler way is just to insert a minus sign ("-") before the "F". This prevents the setting from being processed.
If you are using one of the above Braille display units without a screen reader, but it is connected via a serial communications instead of USB port, replace "USB" with "COM" followed by "1" through "4", to specify the serial communications port number. It is possible to have nothing at all after the"F" directive, just the terminating semicolon, which causes the system to search for and automatically detect the Braille display on its connection port. However, automatic detection is not guaranteed to work on all systems, it is better to explicitly indicate the connection port.
