when you are working in your e-mail program, there may be times when you want to address a message, or provide additional recipients, with addresses stored in the WintextCom directory. One example of this has been described in the previous section on forwarding message. Other possible scenarios include:
- You have started a new message by selecting the e-mail program's new message facility, and wish to provide the recipient.
- You are replying to a message and wish to copy the reply to additional recipients.
The procedure for using e-mail addresses in the WintextCom directory is the same as for forwarding a message:
- Position the insertion cursor where you want to insert the new recipient's address, in the TO, CC, or BC box of your e-mail program. If there is already one or more addresses in the box, you will need to ensure correct separation of addresses, such as on a new line or separated by commas or semicolons, according to the rules of your e-mail program.
- Invoke the WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) directory by pressing its shortcut key combination or clicking a visitable WintextCom icon.
- Locate the required address by navigating through the directory or typing text to find and highlight the entry.
- Double left click the entry or highlight it and press Control ENTER. The selected address appears in the box as if you had typed it.
You can also use the above procedure to insert e-mail addresses and other directory items as part of the body of a message, for informational purposes, just as you can when working in other programs.
