If WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) is running in the background and set up correctly for using the telephone, you can press WindowsKey+Escape to answer the telephone from anywhere in Windows, if the telephone rings while you are working in your word processor or surfing the Internet, for example. Using this command saves pressing the WTC accelerator keystroke to bring it into the foreground before pressing Escape on its own to answer the call. You can also press WindowsKey+Escape to answer the telephone instead of just Escape when WTC is the active application, if you prefer. The command is the same as the standard answer command except that a Windows logo key is pressed in combination, since using Escape alone as a global hotkey would interfere with its ordinary usage by applications.
When you press WindowsKey+Escape, WTC answers the incoming call exactly as per standard operation, but is automatically made the active application if it were not in the foreground at the time the keystroke is pressed. The answering progress window is then displayed and you can proceed with the call as normal.
