You can set up the library to use File Manager as the browser for selecting files to read. You might prefer this setup in order to have more access to Windows features and because File Manager stays open when a file is selected, whereas Library Manager closes when you press ENTER or click to open a file in the reader.
To specify File Manager for read access to the library, follow th procedure for setting up advanced library mode, but instead of entering an option secondary path, type a percent sign ("%"). It is not possible to specify a secondary (alternative) folder when using File Manager in place of Library Manager. If there is only one oblique stroke following the base library path, File Manager will not allow you to navigate outside the library. If a second oblique stroke is included, navigation is unrestricted.
Library Manager is used when saving new material to the library with WintextCom's built in save to library features even if File Manager is set up for read access. You can, of course use the "New" menu options available with File Manager to save new information and provide access to other items. As mentioned elsewhere in this documentation, be aware that file operation carried out with File Manager, apart from deleting with Control+Delete, do not take account of any WintextCom Reader bookmarks associated with the file(s).
