The most obvious effect of advanced library mode is that you are no longer restricted to browsing within the library. You can backspace into the library's parent folder, and navigate to any location that your system security settings will allow you to access. This mode allows you to access documents in their physical storage anywhere on your computer, including on all available disk drives and in your personal folders. Additionally, when you open a document for reading or save new information, Library Manager opens in the document's folder the next time it is invoked, even if the folder is not part of the library, instead of returning to the library as in standard mode.

This opens the possibility of saving new information straight to permanent storage and then exporting the document to a library location as a working copy. There is nothing to stop you reading it from its permanent copy, but if you want a working copy, for instance, to append notes while still retaining the original, saving the permanent copy first and then exporting a working copy can be quicker than the other way round.

advance library mode also enables the following features --

The fact that file operations outside the WintextCom Reader are standard Windows operations and do not respect WintextCom Reader bookmarks does not mean these capabilities are not useful. You might be set up to use a preferred external program as your document reader instead of the WintextCom Reader, and the bookmark issue is not consequential or is handled by other means. Even if you do use the WintextCom Reader, file operations using Library Manager or Windows Explorer can be more conveniently performed in situations where preserving or losing bookmarks is not an issue, such as when simply making a copy or after the document bookmarks have been deleted. If you feel you have left bookmarks "floating" with no associated file, you can press Control+ENTER in Library Manager's files list to display the bookmarks viewer, which prunes the bookmarks by removing any for which the referenced document does not exist before it displays them.
