This page follows on from the user registration page and allows you to specify the folder where the WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) program and files will be installed on your computer.
Installing a subsequent version of WTC over an earlier version, or when you are installing the registered version after an evaluation, suggests the folder where the current version is installed.
If you prefer a different folder to the one suggested, you can either type a different path in or click the Browse button to select an existing folder or create a new one. Keyboard users can press the Tab key to move to the Browse button, then ENTER.
If you proceed with the suggested folder or one that does not already exit, the Installation Wizard proceeds straight to the install page, but if you specify an alternative existing folder, you are prompted to confirm intention to use it. This is a precaution to help avoid accidentally installing WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) in another application or data folder, or at the root of a hard disk, which can make a real mess and be tedious to clear up.
The recommended procedure is to accept the suggested installation location. Quite apart from other considerations, this keeps your installation standard. If you change the folder and you already have an installation, WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) will not pick up on the operating settings and directories of that installation and you will need to manually copy files from the old folder to the new. Using the suggested location ensures that each successive version of WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) that you install will just carry on using the settings and data of the previous version.
This page also displays the amount of free disk space required to install the software. This would only normally be an issue if your hard disk is extremely full.
To proceed to the next page of the Installation Wizard, click the Next button, or click the Back button to return to the previous page if you wish to review information or change selections. You can proceed to the next page by pressing ENTER if no other button has the Windows focus.
