When you purchase your Freedom Scientific Braille display, you must first install its associated software so that WintextCom can gain access to it under Windows.

You will receive a CD with your Braille display, which contains the necessary files and installation programs. You need to follow the steps for installing the Braille display for JAWS version 5.x, but, because you are not in fact installing for use with JAWS, omit the instructions to copy "fsbrl.jlb" and to run "modjkm.bat". After completing the installation, instead of following the instruction to restart JAWS, continue with the setup of WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm).
