To indicate that you are connected to a Focus or PacMate portable Braille display from Freedom Scientific, use the "F" option in the driver configuration string.

 

Letter "F" is followed by settings for the connection port and, optionally, the Braille dot firmness. Settings specifications must be in this order, connection port then dot firmness, separated by a comma.
