When you are reading a document in the WintextCom Reader, you can open it in its Windows program as described earlier in this documentation. This can be used to add notes to the end of a document, but if you want to do more extensive work based upon the reading material, you can open a separate file or access a folder.
The features described in the section under this heading present a very powerful but simple framework for associating work with library documents and reading material stored elsewhere. The capabilities range from simply associating another document with the one that you are reading in order to consolidate the information or answer questions, to associating a project or using the WintextCom Reader as a platform for adding information to a database. A simple example is saving an e-mail message in the library, writing a reply to that e-mail in an automatically created text file associated with the saved message, and then sending the file when it is complete; this is a useful approach if th work needed is too much to simply fire off a reply in your e-mail program, the reader keeps track of your place in the reply and it makes the rest easy.
