Creating Library Shortcuts

You can manually insert a library shortcut in the reading list just like creating a directory entry in any other directory list. Place the filename in double quotes as described in the last section. You can include a full path, otherwise, the file is assumed to reside in the library or in a folder relative to the library.

 

The following sections describe some special features for quickly creating reading list links to library documents. You can also use these techniques to create directory links in alternative directory lists.

 

Library shortcuts in the reading list, or any other directory list, can also link to documents outside the library or be used to open ex-library folders in Library Manager. In the standard configuration of Library Manager, if you link to a folder within the library, you can navigate out of it as well as into its sub-folders, as far back as the library base folder; but if the folder is outside the library, you cannot navigate to its parent folder or back to the folder itself if you move into a subfolder. These restrictions

can be removed by setting advanced library features.
