To enable WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) to be used text-to-text on the telephone, you must specify the serial port on which your computer's data modem is configured, or to which an external modem is connected.

You may also want to set the Braille display length for Communications Mode. The Braille display window near the bottom of the WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) screen enables users with an electronic Braille display to read continuously through text with just one key, and setting the length of the display line to correspond to your physical unit ensures that the text is neatly formatted to fit on the line without word breaks.

The sections under this heading explain the principle settings for using Windows Text Communications. For more detailed information on tailoring Windows Text Communications to your particular needs, see the user manual chapter on configuration and customisation.
