By default, when you create an entry in the documents list on Control+K, a plain text file is created when the entry is selected. The same file is opened when you subsequently select the same entry.
If there is a file call "lpwork.txt.doc" in the WintextCom document templates folder, the created file will be a word processor document that is a copy of "lpwork.txt.doc". This basically allows you to use the list to create word processor documents by creating "lpwork.txt.doc" with your word processor's new document feature.
However, you can also include text in the "lpwork.txt.doc" document, or any other content supported by your word processor, and it will then appear in any new document that you create. This is an example of a template. You can use templates in two ways:
The WintextCom templates feature is simpler and more versatile than template facilities provided by many applications. More advanced application of this capability allows you to create templates for any kind of document, such as spreadsheets and databases, using separate document lists and folders of your choice.
