In addition to using the directory to store many different kinds of entry as described in the appropriate sections of this documentation, you can also store items that execute WintextCom internal features. This is called function embedding and uses the percent sign to introduce the required operations.
This feature is a work in progress and does not yet support linking to other directory items and read-only lists that show a name only and hide the execution data. Together with the use of the standard directory entry types, this capability enables you to turn a directory list into a menu of choices rather than an information database, which, moreover, can be sectioned into paragraphs and even deeper.
A list of the available functions is presented in the configuration and customisation section of online help, together with the WintextCom shell commands and extensions.
