You can delete the capture file by selecting the
"D: Delete capture file"
option on the communications text menu, or pressing Alt+T,D. WintextCom checks whether the capture file exists, and if so, prompts you to confirm to delete it by selecting the Yes button. If the capture file does not exist, a message box is displayed to that effect.
There is nothing to stop you deleting the capture file externally, such as from Windows Explorer or the WintextCom File Manager. You may also have the external capture file editor specified as one that allows deleting of the open file. There is no special connection between WintextCom and the capture file that is overridden by deleting it from outside., The internal deletion facility is merely a convenience that allows you to delete the specified capture file without having to browse for it.
