Generally speaking, the WTC directory consists mainly of single line entries that perform some action. Even if you make heavy use of the directory as an address book with many contact details involving postal address, the rest of the contact details are 1-line entries that can be used to dial 'phone numbers or begin e-mail messages, etc. You can also include lines that are just there for information, and lines which open associated files containing further information relevant to the contact, or perform another context-specific action.
WTC provides the store item dialogue to enable you to easily work with directory lines. As well as providing separate edit boxes to fill in the fields of a command entry, the dialogue can also be used with individual lines of a postal address, other text-only lines, and paragraph headings, but not with blocks or more than one line. It enables you to create and modify entries, copy and move them around, and you can also delete entries. If you want to work with blocks of text, you can load the directory into a full featured editor by pressing Control+Shift+ENTER.
You invoke the store item dialogue in various ways depending on what you want to do. Thre are command buttons on the toolbar to add a new entry at the bottom of the directory list, insert a new entry above the currenly highlighted line, and to modify the currently highlighted entry. These buttons correspond to the keyboard commands Control+A, Control+I, and Control+M, respectively.
