The communications window occupies the full width of the program main window, and extends vertically from immediately below the toolbar to the status line at the bottom. It is divided vertically into 3 sections.

The upper section is the visual display or editing window, used in

WintextCom to provided a fullsize terminal window and in other circustances to edit text. Below the visual window is the timebar
