Character embedding can be used in the following situations to include special characters in settings strings:
- To include double quotes ('"') in a string. A literal double quote would affect the processing.
- To include '~' at the beginning of a path string without translating it into the program launch path.
- To include '%' in strings that are processed for environment variables.
- To include commas and semicolons in driver configuration substrings.
