There are 3 commands for accessing your address book information directly when Launchpad is the active application:
- Click the "New e-mail message" button or press Control+Shift+E to compose a new e-mail message to a recipient or recipients in the address book. The address book dialogue box opens and you can select the main recipient(s) and any recipients to whom you want to send a carbon copy or blind copy. Recipients of a blind copy do not receive a list of other people receiving the message. When you OK the dialogue by clicking the OK button or pressing ENTER, a new message opens for you to fill in the subject line and write the text.
- Click the "Select address book item" button or press Control+Shift+O to select address book information as though it were stored in the Launchpad directory. This opens the address book dialogue for you to locate the required information. For example, to dial a telephone number in the address book, select and copy it to the clipboard (Control+C), then OK the dialogue.
Whenever you use Launchpad to select information in your Windows address book or paste it immediately into another document or program, you must copy the required text to the Windows clipboard before pressing the OK button of the address book dialogue box. Although you have copied new information to the clipboard, the original contents is preserved and still available after you OK the dialogue (or press ENTER), or if you cancel the operation by pressing the cancel button or the Escape key. This allows you to access address book information at any time without interrupting whatever else you might be using the clipboard for.
- Click the "Paste address book item" button or press Control+Shift+G to insert address book information into a document or form that you are working on. The address book dialogue opens for you to find the information you want to include in your text, then copy it to the clipboard (Control+C) before pressing the OK button. The information appears in your document as if you had typed it, and whatever was on the clip[board before the insertion is still there for use.
