The return bookmark initially marks the position where a file is opened. That is, when you open a file in the WintextCom Reader, the return bookmark is set the same as the general bookmark that restores your last reading place, or to the top of the file if no bookmark has previously been saved. You can relocate your reading to the return bookmark at any time by pressing Alt+8.
This allows you to quickly return to the place where you opened the file. This is a handy feature if you want to look for specific information when you open a file but do not want to lose your place, yup can return to it and continue reading by pressing Alt+8 instead of having to close a=d reopen the file.
In addition, you can manually set the return bookmark. This of course overrides its original setting and you can no longer return to the place where you opened the file unless you set a user bookmark at that position, or by closing the file with ENTER and reopening it. To set the return bookmark to the current position of your reading display, press Control+F2. You can then return to the last position set as the return bookmark at any time while the file remains open by pressing Alt+8. Note, however, that this setting is not preserved, once you have closed the file, the return bookmark will be automatically set to the position where it next opens.
