The Current User Bookmark

When you set a new user bookmark, it becomes the "current bookmark". For a newly-set bookmark, this means that F2 takes you to it. As you press F2 or Shift+F2 to move to successive bookmarked positions in chronological or reverse chronological order, the current bookmark is set to the position of the last visited mark. When a new bookmark is set, the current bookmark is set to that position, regardless of its placement in the full list of bookmarks at the time the new one is set.

You can return the display to the current bookmark at any time by pressing Alt+6. This means that F2 and Alt+6 do the same thing immediately after a new bookmark has been set, but thereafter, until another place is marked, F2 moves to the next marked position, while Alt+6 moves to the last position visited. This is a handy feature if you have checked text around a bookmark and want to relocate to the bookmark itself, for instance, to send an e-mail or store the address.
