To enable you to fully determine the usefulness of WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) in your situation, S.W.H.-Wintextware makes the software freely available to you in fully functional form for a period of 28 days. During that period, there are no restrictions upon your use of the software, all features are intact.

At the end of the evaluation period, the software will cease to function. Running it after the evaluation period has expired will display a message on the screen, then the program terminates.

When you start the evaluation edition of the software for the first time, a message appears on the screen reminding you that you have 28 days in which to evaluate the software for your needs, and asking if you want the dialogue to be displayed everytime you start the program. The default response by pressing ENTER is yes, or just click the Yes button, to have it appear everytime the program is run, it will then remind you how many days you have left in your evaluation period each time you start WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm).

Sometimes it is preferable not to have the startup reminder displayed. To achieve this, click the No button when the dialogue appears at program startup, or press Tab then ENTER. The reminder will not appear henceforth, and the evaluation edition of

WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) starts exactly as the registered version does. The program time bar near the bottom of the screen displays the number of days remaining in your evaluation period at all times while using the software, the reminder dialogue is a convenience that helps to make sure you notice. You can reactivate the reminder dialogue at any time by displaying the About dialogue on the Help menu. Once this has been done, the reminder dialogue will appear again next time you start WTC and you can switch it off again at that point if required.

The time bar is situated near the bottom of WTC's application window and displays the current time and date as a "ticking" clock on the left, followed by the unregistered reminder information. The About dialogue also displays information about your registered status and remaining evaluation time (if not registered).

Apart from the startup reminder and the reminder information displayed on the time bar, the evaluation edition of WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) is functionally identical to the registered version. The only other difference is that the registered version does not need to display remaining evaluation time on the time bar and by default displays the registered user name instead, but the text displayed on this line after the time and date information can be customised by registered users.
