For most WintextCom JAWS support installations, the JAWS for Windows Support Installation Wizard performs the entire installation for you and there is nothing more to be done except click the Finish button on the finish page after continuing from the install page.

On some systems, however, the JAWS for Windows Support Installation Wizard cannot compile the scripts for the version of JAWS for which you have chosen to install them. In that case, you need to do this manually as described below. After installing the files, before displaying the finish page, the JAWS for Windows Support Installation Wizard displays a message box providing the instructions and pointing you to this section of the installation guide for future reference. If you are running the installer from the WintextCom directory dialling/setup menu, you can carry out the instructions immediately by switching to and from the message box with Alt+Tab or the taskbar icons, otherwise, you can refer to this documentation later to follow through the final steps of the installation.

To complete the installation:

  1. In WintextCom with JAWS running, press JAWSKey+0 to open the WintextCom JAWS user script file in the JAWS Script Manager. The JAWS key is usually Insert on desktop computer keyboards, CapsLock on laptops.
  2. Press Control+O, type "wtcmain", then press ENTER to open the core WintextCom scripts.
  3. Press Control+S to compile the core scripts.
  4. Press Control+F4 to close the core scripts and return to the user scripts.
  5. Press Control+S again to compile the user scripts.
  6. Press Alt+F4 to exit Script Manager.

Click the OK button of the message box to dismiss the information and proceed to the wizard's finish page.
