The automatic text answerphone built into WTC enables you to leave the computer switched on while you are not available to answer the telephone, to store messages left by callers for you to read later.
You switch the answerphone on and off by pressing alt+Escape then ENTER. This is a "toggle command": if the answerphone is off, pressing Alt+escape,ENTER turns it on; if it is already on, Alt+escape,ENTER turns it off. When you press Alt+ecape, a message is displaed confirmng whether the answerphone is being turned on or off, then pressing ENTER removes the message and you are back to normal communications. If y are using VB emulation with a freeedom scientific Braille disply operated directly by WTC instead of having a screenreader installed on the computer, the confirmation message is not currently shown in Braille, but you shouod press ENTER after pressing Alt+escape to ensure it has ben cleared. You can disallow use of the answerphone, so that Alt+Escape has no effect and automatic answering cannot be turned on.
