To reset WintextCom Personal Information Manager(tm) to default, as per first-time installation apart from any custom registry settings, go to either the directory dialling/setup menu or communications settings menu. Select the
"R: Restore default settings"
option.
This option deletes the settings file, "wtc.wtc". Note, however, that it does not reset the registry. If you have instituted setup directives by entering them into the registry, or changed the default registry directive that causes processing of the settings file, the restore default settings option will have no effect on those changes. This is intentional. It provides the ability to completely remove dependency on the settings file or provide an "indestructible" set of configuration options, in effect redefining the default settings, while allowing users to still exploit some of WTC's advanced flexibility.
Redefining the defaults is also useful if you are experimenting with settings and need to repeatedly restore, as you do not need to keep putting certain settings back.
